Wire Fraud Warning: Please Read Before Sending Any Money

Never wire funds based on emailed or online instructions. Before sending any earnest money, call the title company directly at a number you've verified independently. Get it from the title company's official website or your signed purchase documents, not from an email, text message, or this website.

Criminals target real estate transactions. They hack or imitate the email accounts of agents, lenders, and title companies, then send fake wiring instructions that look real. Once money is wired to a criminal, it is usually gone for good.

We will never send you changed wiring instructions by email or text. If you get a message saying payment instructions have changed, treat it as fraud. Stop, don't reply, and call us and the title company at numbers you've verified.

Think you sent money to the wrong account? Call your bank immediately and ask them to recall the wire. Then report it to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center at www.ic3.gov.
